With Dean Macalinao, Outstanding Employee of PLM, Model Adviser of Economics Society, she squeezed out the best from us, to performed our tasks and met the challenge to academic excellence, as well as responsiveness to fast-changing social environment.

Now, we understand not only the nature, scope, characteristics, principles and limitations of a sound system of taxation, the sources of tax law but also the responsibility to pay tax and exercise our right in a civil society.Imelda Estrellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01266417710730401119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3493932842344940798.post-13182290225128766562010-02-09T23:00:00.002+08:002010-02-26T15:34:46.296+08:00Romance Novelists<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSH9vT05tM0eQWzmKshYzQ4rD9pQcOWaeMbjlZjrALZhzmjfoBob6mErlSIsMAS_oHap-sAvX0aUIx0UGQVbDMB0NGWn9WFqD727CtuHaN7nZ83I3Y3T2JHOxeLCwPHlCdOjbb5Kkhl3I/s320/Romance+Novelists.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442443191507628834" />

(clockwise)Leshie Navarro, Glady Jimena, Ofelia Concepcion
Imelda Estrella, Josie Aventurado, Tessa San DiegoImelda Estrellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01266417710730401119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3493932842344940798.post-44955631564138498412010-02-02T21:34:00.003+08:002010-02-27T22:23:24.656+08:00Home Sweet Home<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNhxxe9-UoMMcKz1ZAZO7ps3Qb4lA2np8A51xhympKxwNs4TTz15Z53VJm86zYe_QkpTnEeV485tiE59J14yb3RZkcCNMS09KudUOh99YBdixb8tArHZEN7I5LPhknb_gVI8YZXyEi-jE/s320/DSC07206.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442928643397224690" />

Maybe if we can have that kind of leader this nation will be great again.
Public office is a public trust.
Corruption hurts economy, people and government.
We need moral renewal and stop these corrupt practices or act.
If the country has strong moral fiber, then the legal system works effectively.
Study the code of ethics and live by it.
Yes, our ethics tend to flow from our core values.
Our work will be characterized by professionalism, integrity, excellence.
The challenge to every Filipino, be a good citizen, and build a peaceful and progressive nation.
Sabi nga ni Sir Rosas, "be the angel of change".Imelda Estrellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01266417710730401119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3493932842344940798.post-63440353226046306872009-10-18T23:12:00.005+08:002010-02-27T22:09:01.805+08:002009 KOMIKON<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhay0OzC1UrpGo5Qt0bwt5V3enwFzsjudq6OLGbU-yGLEZxuADD45-8VcyigX66PzOkuRZHJKlrdYR3V0QUAsR7pwXb848GcuYK3iqNS4O9RW_EdjH2Iw0hykbuzST9hD1tgJwTFmOYER8/s320/DSC01532.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393958320469373954" />
The Writer with The Editorial Cartoonist
Norman Isaac of Manila BulletinImelda Estrellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01266417710730401119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3493932842344940798.post-69500725591392820452009-10-16T23:22:00.003+08:002009-10-21T22:11:54.621+08:00PICCA with Dr. John Lent<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSgINKpaWJIBnDlmEiJ_H-mVD_KCh7lXgGiJP3EkfDk1IWEO0QcVnwrz1E3VWeDHu181klQhxhrUSbH8G-GdjHEy2xh6-ArL7q55BplenhS8h1E081Vb-T_3erX7NfGVYd93pfk4aS0Js/s320/DSC01516.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393513331536164114" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfTGT2ltyXhEgr7uPHPbXoh6TPDkM33X8i9cAL1l_BePg3WeP9t3GluCJR2_URDz6Wh3AAGCn4nivnbE5wcrpxkOLVUZncAe-mmm-E24WmIWKUfoqNhDs27nBDdlP93osrcUyc_PGmvJ4/s320/DSC01512.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393504460143690770" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit06hsr4RO2YW2hYIivK7tx5KM-_xd7c8bq7Fssq32RKN7QjZlMboyFaeL-egXTivKGAMCans1MOvc2thrG2RNiym-InCRH9FVY1DWDCQk76ggRViCNK0HtMb5AEx7OdGyjDuveVUXoH0/s320/DSC01525.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393504289874105026" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOmyJKmqBRkQ7v2ctqRzbYbUZmLnqV-WPv1mOeKfS4558NwNwc0TbNlI0HBmcheq_cgaTwIWe7ZbyRufhJOa2b_XxOJwnfrxwhtq7sqzoJgUJPKhNPCHHMa4w6S36fp67ldCwmodPpqpk/s320/DSC01509.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393504041559546114" />
The Philippine International Cartoons Comics Animation Festival (PICCA) is a 4-day of learning, fun and artistic events with display of talents, exhibits, competitions, workshops,talks, film showings, caricature sessions, awards and tributes to all comics' lovers.
Prior to this event is the book launching of Dr. John Lent's The Philippine First 100 Years of Komiks and Cartoons held in Powerbooks, SM Megamall. Why is it an American author is the one who visualized and initiated to write history of Philippine comics? Dr. Lent passion for comics and Filipino culture are some of the reasons why. We are trying to get there as quickly as possible."
The government declared a "state of calamity".
Huge traffic jams clogged the roads in the capital as floodwaters caused many vehicles to stall….monstrous trafiic jam….several homes have been submerged in floods, TV networks showed a dramatic video of people crying for help, roofs of damaged houses being swept away by the suburban Marikina River.
Radio DZMM reported about a wall, weakened by floodwaters, collapsed in a suburb of Manila.
One of the three airport terminals in Manila was forced to cancel and divert flights after the flooding hampered its electrical system.
These were the damaged as Tropical Ondoy battered Luzon on Saturday. The storm, bearing winds of 85 kilometres (53 miles) per hour with gusts of 100 kph, hit the main island of Luzon near the town of Infanta at about 0200 GMT Sunday, moving west at 19 kph, the weather station said.
Government weather forecaster said the equivalent of one month's worth of rain fell on the city in less than a day.
We knew there would be rain but not like this. In 6 hours time it almost flooded the country. About 13.4 inches (34.1 centimeters) of rain fell on metropolitan Manila in just six hours, close to the 15.4-inch (39.2-centimeter) average for the entire month of September.
Flooding was reported in many districts and on roads reported with waters in some areas reaching as high as the rooftops of one-storey buildings, the civil defence office said. Hardly hit were place like Pateros, Pasig, Rizal, Marikina, Antipolo, and some part of Quezon City, Bulacan, Laguna.

An average of 20 typhoons and storms enter the Philippines from the Pacific Ocean over the eastern seaboard every year.

In hard time like this be brave, show the strenght of human spirit.
There is always a silver lining behind the dark clouds. We do not have to destroy in order to build.
On one of the long corridors of Harvard University are carved in granite the words of Archibald Macleish:
“How shall freedom be defended? By arms when it is attacked by arms; by truth when it is attacked by lies; by democratic faith when it is attacked by authoritarian dogma. Always, and in the final act, by determination and faith.”
The love story of Ninoy and Cory is the story that will end up all love story. Until Cory's last breath his love for Ninoy inspired the world.
Corazon Aquino was the eleventh President of the Philippines. She is known to be the global icon of democracy while her husband,the late Senator Benigno Aquino is considered the best president the Philippines never had.
As I surf the net I traced Cory's family tree and this is what I found out.
THE FAMILY TREE OF CORAZON COJUANGCO AQUINO:
The beginnings of the Cojuangco family can be traced back to Hong Chian town in Tongan province, China. Former President Corazon Aquino’s,great grandfather was the first generation of the Cojuangco clan that came to the Philippines in 1861. His name formerly, Mr. Co Yu Hwan converted to Catholicism when he came to Manila and was baptized Mr. Jose Cojuangco. He married Antera Estrella, a Filipina and settled in Malolos. The whole family tranferred to Tarlac.
My grandparents Estrella clan also came from Malolos, Bulacan and most relatives settled in Tarlac and Pangasinan the like of Congressman Conrado EstrellaIII.
I also met Captain Jaime Estrella in NAIA.
They were the icons of peace and democracy.
Hope in my veins flow the blood of a hero.Imelda Estrellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01266417710730401119noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3493932842344940798.post-13961509776013963162009-08-20T21:42:00.001+08:002009-08-25T21:49:37.554+08:00My Family<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWY0VdaibtFMm5ugMC16QAEI0wQNQoiTjS7eU2Eqh1BP7rXC-OuN9Z-DiImDnFmUHLit05PO4-BjaOJOmNBelaNtG7ZDvkNIRg2p_CtcfhCDDd1iuHJP_i8OHG3p1saNiMyhHoEhrfb5k/s320/Family.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373896453898858450" />
Mark Angelo, Me, Roan, Ryan and RenzoImelda Estrellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01266417710730401119noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3493932842344940798.post-57618105055791942032009-08-19T23:11:00.000+08:002009-08-22T18:43:10.219+08:00Wikang Filipino<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 254px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgETO6wT7Lc1cSMkLOYs60REYtEWDdpHvSTxuPKJacrnUQPUvumDp2LUsdqTOh0CWwS4boSv0eD_m11rS-U2_UHzVgRxruKIFKn6uznxjwn5cjfBvm2xjN4U1HFI0luzz38vt4vpcuUUaE/s320/Hi+in+any+language.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5372723148255304882" />
Is there a need to change English to Filipino as medium of instruction?
To the context of globalization we need to learn English and other international language to be global competitive. Jobs today are increasingly requiring workers who can interact with those who speak languages other than English and who can adapt to a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Individuals who speak, read, and understand more than one language can communicate with more people, read more literature, and benefit more fully from travel to other countries.
This is more than a historical event. A global celebration, expanded to 86 countries, and 4 territories across the globe. The church today remains an anchor of hope to its millions of members.
The Iglesia ni Cristo has remained at the forefront of spiritual evangelism, good will and honorable peace, thus enriching countless Filipino lives, leaving an indelible imprint in Filipino society and bestowing upon our country and people a lasting spiritual legacy.
The INC is a Christian religious society, not a political organization, but it does public sevices including the conduct of outreach programs on education, youth development, family counseling, as well as health, socio and economic community extension services, pressing social concerns that affect not only the life of its members but other marginalized Filipino families. The church remains socially responsive, caring for its members and society at large and addressing social issues such as poverty and peace and order. It educates its members to remain disciplined and responsible citizens, abiding by the laws of God and men.
A distinction of the Iglesia is the strength of its leadership, from its first Executive Minister, Felix Y. Manalo, whom the faithful recognized as God’s messenger, to the incumbent Executive Minister, Brother Eraño G. Manalo. Brother Eraño has remained faithful to the Biblical principles and administrative system.
May makapag-iisa nga ba sa mga tao?
